      <image:title>About - Hi, I’m Shelley!</image:title>
<image:caption>I attended Radford University, where I became a Board-Certified Music Therapist with a minor in American Sign Language. I originally founded Notes 2 Live By, LLC to serve residents in an assisted living facility in Virginia, but then moved to Indiana for my dream job working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. My AAC Journey started with one simple question in my internship…</image:caption>

<image:caption>Shelley provides inservices to businesses and groups who would like to feel more confident with Augmentative Alternative Communication devices (AAC). Shelley specializes in using music to enhance language learning. Each training will be led by Shelley, either in person or online. Prior to the inservice, Shelley will meet with you to discuss what will be most beneficial for your group to learn. During the inservice, there will be instructional time, practice time, and opportunities for questions. Specializations include understanding different AAC systems and AAC best practices, and using music to enhance language learning. Email Shelley to book or request more information.</image:caption>

<image:title>Language Acquisition Through Motor Planning - What is LAMP?</image:title>
<image:caption>Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP) is a therapeutic approach based on neurological and motor learning principals. The goal is for individuals who are nonverbal or have limited verbal communication to be able to communicate with the world around them using a robust communication system. Everyone has the right to say what they want to say, when they want to say it! The LAMP methodology helps teach individuals to use an Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) device. AAC is anything that is not verbal speech: gestures, Sign Language, writing, or drawing to express what they want to communicate. The LAMP method accepts all forms of communication with a focus on teaching how to use a speech generating device through sensory rich activities. Though there is a LAMP app that is a robust communication system the LAMP method can be paired with any AAC device that the individual may already be using.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Language Acquisition Through Motor Planning - Services</image:title>
<image:caption>Shelley offers LAMP services through individual sessions. She primarily uses Music Therapy to help teach skills, but can also use an individual’s most motivating activities to help them learn to communicate. Shelley offers individual sessions with parent consultation as a package. It is important that parents are modeling the device at home and in the community to establish that the device can be used in all areas of the individual’s life. Shelley enjoys working with families, making the LAMP principals easy to understand and easy to implement.</image:caption>
